Senior Backend Engineer
On-site in Brisbane, Australia or Remote for the right candidate
As an early lead engineer at Notiv™, you will be responsible for helping to shape the foundation of our product and the back-end technologies that power it. We are an early stage startup so we are looking for a self-motivated, passionate, and positive individual who is excited about solving problems for people in elegant and iterative ways. You will be working in close proximity to our intelligence team so an interest in machine learning is a big plus.

Notiv is expanding our team of entrepreneurial designers, product and machine learnings engineers. We are looking for a motivated, passionate individual, excited about solving complex problems. The Role
As a backend engineer at Notiv™, you will shape our product and technologies that power it. there are plenty of great opportunities to learn new skills and make your mark
- Work with other teams on our existing APIs, core media services and intelligence services.
- Identifying opportunities for common services to extract from our existing codebases
- Solving security and performance problems and cracking bugs, then delivering a solution
- Working with other engineers to define and scale infrastructure problems.
- Release your work, iterating post-release and learn about how your services react to user loads through both server statistics and user analytics.
Who we're looking for
- Passion! We are impressed by people who don't half do things. You have a thirst for knowledge, and challenge yourself to improve
- No BS. You are able to 'Get It Done' and manage your time
- Specific languages/frameworks are not necessary - though knowledge of Ruby on Rails and React helps.
- Embrace test-driven development and code review culture
- 5+ years experience in building backend APIs and services - degree not necessary, but problem solving skills are
Not essential, but preferred
- AWS / Docker / k8s / Terraform
- WebRTC and Streaming technologies
- CQRS / Event sourcing principles
- NodeJS / Typescript / Golang
